About The Event

The Holiday Shop Blackburn is proud to celebrate 20 years in business with a special charity fundraising evening.

Over the past two decades, we have helped thousands of customers create unforgettable holidays and built a community of more than 22,000 followers.

To mark this milestone, we are hosting a black-tie fundraising evening featuring a two-course meal, a welcome drink, live entertainment, a celebrity memorabilia auction, a charity raffle, prizes, community support and a complimentary Magic Mirror Photo Booth for guests to enjoy.

Our goal is simple: to raise as much money as possible for Teenage Cancer Trust and East Lancashire Hospice.

Celebrating 20 Years of The Holiday Shop Blackburn

Founded by Marina in 2006, The Holiday Shop Blackburn has spent the last 20 years helping customers turn their travel dreams into reality.

What began as a local independent travel agency has grown into a trusted business serving generations of holidaymakers across Blackburn, Lancashire and beyond.

To celebrate our anniversary, we asked each member of the team to share their favourite destination, their dream holiday and a little about their experience in the travel industry.

For Brandon — Supporting Teenage Cancer Trust

In loving memory of Brandon Langford, 22 May 2003 – 25 April 2022.

Our support for Teenage Cancer Trust is deeply personal. We are fundraising in loving memory of Brandon Langford, the much-loved brother of our team member Toni.

Brandon was loving, caring, funny and football-mad, and he was a huge Liverpool supporter. In 2020, he was diagnosed with a grade 4 glioblastoma. He later joined a clinical trial at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.

When the trial treatment stopped working, Brandon received compassionate end-of-life care with support from Derian House. He passed away peacefully on 25 April 2022, surrounded by his family, just weeks before his nineteenth birthday.

Teenage Cancer Trust provided invaluable care, kindness and support to Brandon and his family during an unimaginably difficult time. This fundraiser is our way of keeping Brandon’s name, smile and story alive while helping the charity be there for other young people and families facing cancer.

East Lancashire Hospice

East Lancashire Hospice was chosen with the help of the customers, followers and local community who have supported The Holiday Shop Blackburn throughout the past 20 years.

We asked our Facebook community to help us select a local charity, and East Lancashire Hospice was their choice. The hospice provides specialist care and support to local people living with life-limiting illnesses, as well as their families and loved ones.

As a Blackburn-based independent business, we are proud to support a charity that has touched the lives of so many families across our area.

Celebrity Memorabilia Auction

As part of the evening, we are contacting sports personalities, entertainers, musicians, television figures, public figures and businesses for auction items and complementary raffle prizes.

All donated items and prizes will be used to raise funds on the night through the auction or raffle. Supporters may be thanked on our website and social media channels where permission is given.

Every item received directly from a donor, representative or official organisation is carefully recorded, with relevant email correspondence and supporting paperwork retained for provenance.
